Pumpkin Math

Yesterday we completed a pumpkin math activity in preparation for Halloween! We measured the distance around the pumpkin and converted the measurement to block units. Students estimated the number of seeds inside the pumpkin and then we counted the seeds. Students even had the chance to smell the inside of the pumpkin. Their descriptions of the smell ranged from "disgusting" to "smells like roses". Either way, it was a lot of fun!
