Self Portraits

Last week we finally had the opportunity to complete an activity I have wanted the kids to do all year! On Thursday, we painted self-portraits to hang in the classroom. In preparation for painting, we were able to discuss what makes us unique and how we all come together to make a a wonderful, diverse class and group of friends. In the afternoon, Mrs. Lee, our art teacher, gave a brief lesson on how to create a good self-portrait while parents helped set up for the activity. Parents, teachers, and kids alike had a blast. The students were really happy with their final products and I think they captured their Kindergarten selves really well!
