Last week we started our unit on counting. Students were sad to leave shapes behind, but excited to take on this challenging unit. To kick things off, we started with a mini-project called "Tybee Island Counting". We read a book called Island Counting and prepared to make our own
book. In the beginning, we planned to predict what we would find on
Tybee and then go on a scavenger hunt around school to find objects that
represent the numbers 1-10. However, due to the weather we could not
make our hunt happen. So we settled for our thoughts on what might be on
Tybee Island and still made some lovely books for numbers 1 - 5.
