At Last: Another Trade Has Come Along

On a somewhat rainy Easter Sunday, I finally traded away the bunny ears and tail. I thought the timing was appropriate! I traded these items to my lovely mother in exchange for an Applebee's Gift Card valued at $25. (She valued the accessories more as she plans to give them to a friend for use as photo booth props.) So after a long month, I'm back in the trading game! If you (or someone you know) has something worth more than $25 that you no longer want and would rather have an Applebee's card, make an offer!

Is your child still trading? After going through a trading lull myself, I know how interest comes and goes while life gets in the way. It's never too late to get back in the trading game! Or start over! I have a few red paperclips left, so let me know if your child wants to get back in on the action in the last months of the school year.

Mr. Tiger Goes Wild

Mr. Tiger Goes Wild was the most recent installment in our continuing author study on Peter Brown. The kids loved the non-conformist, Mr. Tiger, and dreamed about what it would be like if they went wild. After reading, we journeyed to Peter's blog to learn about the artists who influenced his illustration creation in this book. That got us thinking about our influences... Check out our musings below!

Children Make Terrible Pets

One little girl was very excited to share her Peter Brown paraphernalia with the class. We continued our author study by reading, Children Make Terrible Pets. Students loved going on another adventure with Lucille, the bear we met in You Will Be My Friend! After reading, students journaled about their perfect pet and also classified great vs. terrible pets.

Pinata Party!

We had so much fun at our pinata party to celebrate our compliment chain hitting the floor. The kids had a blast and we may have participated in a little redistribution of wealth at the end to save tears. ;) It is Kindergarten after all! Thanks to everyone who donated candy and treats.

Warning: A pinata was most definitely harmed during the taking of these pictures...
