Georgia Children's Book Awards Voting

While many had their sights set on "Super Tuesday" this week, we did some very important voting of our own on Wednesday. The kids have been waiting quite some time for this opportunity to vote. For a few months now, we have been reading nominees for the picturebook category of the Georgia Children's Book Awards. We read 18 of the 20 nominees in the end and cast our ballots on Wednesday in conjunction with Read Across America day. The favorites from our class were Sam and Dave Dig a Hole and My Teacher is a Monster. We just can't wait to see what wins. I'll be at the Georgia Conference on Children's Literature over Spring Break and announce the results when we all return. It' really very exciting!
