In Case You Haven't Heard...

Last week, students determined their final representation for the boat project. The class combined several individuals' ideas and expressed a desire to send the representation to - CANADA! Without much time to make things happen, we set to work quickly. We reviewed a map of the Vancouver school district and made several contacts based on the students' choices. By the end of Monday we had established contact with Elsie Roy Elementary School and been connected with two Kindergarten teachers. From there, the fun took off...

All week long, students worked hard to capture the boat project in various ways. Each student wrote a page for a book about detailing each step of our boat project. Then, students divided into two groups to create other representations. Some students created models of different types of boats. Other students worked to create a narrated slideshow. All of the end products turned out wonderfully and are currently on their way to Canada! Check out some boat sculptures below.
