The Red Paperclip Chain Continues
After trading my red paperclip last Monday for the green smiley stress ball, students were eager to offer trades for my new treasure. On Friday, one lucky guy traded three books to me in exchange for my stress ball. He was one happy man!
Upon seeing the books in my possession, we decided the library might be a great home for them. Luckily, we had a library trip scheduled for the afternoon. On our trip, I wagered a trade with our lovely librarian, Ms. Laurel, at the Tybee Island Public Library. In exchange for my books, Ms. Laurel put together a "library goody pack" consisting of two books, two sheets of super reading stickers, two "READ" stickers, and a bracelet that says "read" in many languages. Ms. Laurel placed her newly acquired books on the free bookshelf for other TIMA students to enjoy. Now I must find the perfect trade for my library goody pack... I wonder what it will be!

Measurement Fun
We recently started our unit on measurement in math. We began tackling this topic by investigating our first form of measurement - height. Students had fun working in groups creating these height comparison charts. Check out our observations on what things are taller/shorter than a Kindergartener!
Our Big Surprise
Last Tuesday the kids were anxious all day long for their "big surprise". By 11:30 we were chanting "Lunch! Art! Big Surprise!" counting down the activities until the special trip. What was our surprise? Kindergarten classes were invited to the Tybee Library for a presentation by Savannah Balloons in honor of A.A. Milne's Birthday. Students loved the Winnie the Pooh spectacular!
