Crab Shack Field Study

A little over a week ago, we enjoyed a rainy, but fun-filled trip to the Crab Shack as part of our restaurant project! First we visited the bird room to learn about the many feathered residents of this restaurant. We then learned about all kinds of crabs. Students were able to see live blue crabs, spider crabs, and stone crabs. Students learned about how stone and blue crabs are obtained and served in the restaurant. Students were also able to see and touch conch shells and other organisms. Finally, each child had the opportunity to interact with an alligator!
