Guest Speaker - Patrick Kelsey

In December, we hosted our first guest speaker for the restaurant project - Patrick Kelsey. Mr. Kelsey shared with students about his experience working in two very different restaurants - one German and one Chinese. He shared about his jobs and duties, but also the ways different cultures prepare their food. Building off of his continued love for cooking, he shared many kitchen tools and their uses. The best part of this experience for the kids by far was the variety of foods Mr. Kelsey brought in to share. It was great for the children to be able to see, hold, and even taste new foods! When the project began, students were interested in why there were special restaurants for food from different countries. They wanted to know how these restaurants were special. It's safe to say they learned that and so much more from this experience!
